Fred’s responsibilities at Green Gate Studio include finance, billing, rendering and coloring designs, marketing the firm, and providing on-site assistance measuring spaces, inventorying plants, and managing logistics.
- lived in an Ashram and taught Yoga in the early 1970′s
- worked in the field of physical therapy while taking classes to matriculate to physical therapy school while training for marathons and running 80 miles per week in the mid 70’s
- graduated from physical therapy school in the early 80′s
- main strengths as a physical therapist include massage and manual therapy
- lectured on organic composting at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in the mid 80′s
- attended classes at an environmental horticulture college in the early 90s
- coached a wheelchair track team
- attended the Savannah College of Art and Design
- took art classes at the University of Georgia
- toured ecological sites throughout the southeast with a nationally known artist who taught watercolor and plant identification
- avid landscape oil painter with a passion for the Blue Ridge mountains/Virginia’s Piedmont region in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains
- dedicated bicyclist, clocking 50 miles per week
